In 2023, we issued a survey to the community which received approximately 200 responses. One of the questions asked respondents to rate which topics our community are most interested in hearing more about. Unsurprisingly, mental health and wellbeing strategies came in #1 and 43% of respondents also anticipated mental health and counselling to be a need in the future.
Knowing this, we partnered with Cat Levine, a Mental Wellbeing Educator who has spoken to over 10,000 children in schools across Aotearoa to bring you the Think and Be Me series – a 4-part series of webinars aimed to equip you and your family with practical techniques to work through those big emotions to develop a more resilient and healthy mindset.
Fred Bear also made some new friends – Angry Dragon, Cool Cat and Worry Watchdog and our younger community showed up with awesome drawings of Fred and Worry Watchdog.
From posters to colouring in, to games, there was something for the whole family to enjoy, play and build mental fitness and wellbeing.
"I had the pleasure of attending the Think and Be Me Wellbeing session #2 and I just wanted to pass on that I could have sat all day and listened to Cat. What a beautiful person and she obviously has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the importance of mental health.
Thank you CFNZ for facilitating this. I really appreciate it."
