Fieldworker services are available to everyone with cystic fibrosis in New Zealand. Their help goes a long way to supporting our members throughout their lives.
Currently Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand has three fieldworkers – Northern Fieldworker Gretchen Kitching, Central Fieldworker Jude Kelly, and South Island Fieldworker Sue Lovelock. They know first-hand some of the challenges involved in raising a child who has CF and many of the issues that Adults with the condition may face.
They travel around New Zealand’s main cities, meeting with clinicians, the CF community and visiting the parents of newly diagnosed children. They regularly attend outpatient and inpatient clinics during the week where they are consulted by parents and adults who have the condition.
They understand the cystic fibrosis health condition, and the New Zealand health and disability support systems so they know what help is available from clinicians, external agencies, and Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand.
