CFNZ is now accepting applications for the Mark Ashford Memorial Scholarship.
The Scholarship is CFNZ’s top study award, with a grant of $3000 to the person with CF who has achieved excellent results in tertiary education and/or showed tenacity to overcome the trials of CF while studying. Tasman Insulation, manufacturers of Pink Batts, have generously sponsored the award in memory of Mark Ashford, a person with CF who passed away in 1996 after making a huge contribution to home health with his work on the Fletcher Group’s Healthy Homes book.
The scholarship is open to any person with CF currently studying (or within the previous 12 months) at tertiary level (including approved trade courses). The application form is available here, and is easy to fill out. Applications close 24 March 2017 and it’s hoped the winner will be presented with the Scholarship at the Cystic Fibrosis Conference in Christchurch on 8 April.
The winning applicant will be selected by the CFNZ Chief Executive, a CFNZ Fieldworker and a member of the CFNZ Board.
Last year CFNZ marked 20 years of the Mark Ashford Scholarship with a video produced by Kieran Wright to acknowledge the past recipients who achieved remarkable results – often in the face of adversity.
