The Breath4CF Physical Activity Grant is an allowance for people with Cystic Fibrosis, to assist them so that cost is not a barrier to physical exercise. Medical advice is unanimous, exercise is a way that people with CF can positively affect their own quality of life and longevity.
Breath4CF allowances are graduated for age:
To qualify for this allowance people with Cystic Fibrosis must be registered as members of the Association, but need not be symptomatic.
Most sports and activities are covered by the allowance, but in general the activity must: increase breathing rate, increase heart rate and /or increase movement of chest and upper body. Some ‘grey’ areas exist and any activities that fall into these ‘grey’ areas are referred to a Cystic Fibrosis Physiotherapist for a final decision as to the activity’s benefit.
For more details regarding those activites specifically excluded, please refer to the Breath4CF application form
Important note: please remember to include receipts, invoices or quotes with your application as we cannot process it without them. If you have any questions about the breath4CF allowance please contact the Administration Manager.
